SSF is being trained to keep pace with the modern age: PM

Sheikh Hasina said, “We have always tried to keep the Special Security Force (SSF) trained and increase its efficiency in line with this modern age.” She was speaking at the Special Security Force (SSF) ‘s 35th founding anniversary celebrations (virtual) on Tuesday. The Prime Minister highlighted the modernization of technology and the change in the type of crime.

At the same time, criminals are also getting opportunities, militants are also getting opportunities. From time-to-time different types of terrorism-militancy originate and the type of terrorism-militancy also changes. Just as we can improve modern living standards by using modern technology, so too can criminals who are involved in terrorism and militancy commit new crimes using this technology. We have always tried to keep pace with the modern world, our special forces, they will be trained in the same way and their skills will always increase. For that, we are arranging training at home and abroad and at the same time we are creating more opportunities in the future.

Praising the efficiency of the SSF at the time, Sheikh Hasina said, “Not only the President-Prime Minister of our country, but also foreign guests have a difficult responsibility to provide security.” But I thank, congratulate, every one of our SSF members who have come so nicely arranged their security has been appreciated by everyone (foreign guests). Everyone was impressed by the skill and sincerity of the SSF members. The Prime Minister lauded the role of SSF in celebrating the golden jubilee of independence and the birth centenary of the father of the nation.

On the occasion of the birth centenary celebrations of the Father of the Nation, the Special Security Force handed over a bank draft of Tk 2 crore to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for 100 homeless families. The Prime Minister inaugurated an e-book titled ‘Mujib-Bangali-Bangladesh’ edited by Mujibur Rahman.

It is to be noted that the Presidential Security Force was formed in 1986 for the security of the Head of State and Government and other important persons declared by the Government. The force was later renamed the Special Security Force.
