Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has said that Cox’s Bazar’s rail link with the rest of the country will be launched before Victory Day 2022. To that end, construction work of railway line from Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar is going on.
The Minister spoke to the media on Wednesday (September 22) after inspecting various sections of the railway line from Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar and inspecting the construction work of a railway station under construction in the Jhilangja area of Cox’s Bazar suburb.
Since Cox’s Bazar is a tourist area, a separate tourist train will be launched here for tourists.
Nurul Islam Sujan said a 16-kilometer new railway line from Chakaria to Matarbari would be constructed and connected to the port. This will open the door to new possibilities for the economy. And through this, Bangladesh will move forward on the path of realizing the dream of Bangabandhu that Bangladesh was free from poverty and hunger.
The Minister visited the iconic railway station under construction in the Jhilangja area of Cox’s Bazar suburb. After inspecting some of the bridges under construction in Ramu, Ramu Junction area, Ramu inspected the 6 km railway line in the Rashid Nagar area.
During the inspection, the Minister said that the railway line is still under construction, so any environmental problem, including water drainage, will be rectified now.
Cox’s Bazar-Ramu MP Alhaj Saimum Sarwar Kamal, the project director of the railway project from Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar in Chittagong. Mostafizur Rahman and other senior officials were present.
On Thursday, Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan will inspect the progress of railway tracks in the Panir Chhara area of Ramu Upazila and inspect the railway station building and other installations under construction at construction Dulhazara.
