Eight people have died due to dengue fever in the last 24 hours. A total of 114 people died of dengue fever this year.
At the same time, another 1,589 people were admitted to the hospital.
This information was informed in a press release about dengue sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health on Monday (July 17).
It is said that in the last 24 hours, 1,589 new people have been infected with dengue fever and admitted to hospital. Out of this, 847 people have been admitted to hospital due to dengue infection in Dhaka city and 742 people outside Dhaka city.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,095 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country. Among them, 649 people have received clearance from different hospitals in Dhaka City and 446 people from different hospitals across the country outside Dhaka City.
The notification also informed that eight people have died due to dengue in the last 24 hours. Five of those eight died in Dhaka City and three died outside Dhaka City.
A total of 114 people died due to dengue this year. Among them, 87 people died in Dhaka city and 27 people died outside Dhaka city.
A total of 22 thousand 467 people have been affected by dengue until July 17 this year. Out of this, 14 thousand 697 people in Dhaka city and 7 thousand 770 people outside Dhaka city were infected with dengue.
A total of 16,912 people have been discharged from the hospital so far this year. 11 thousand 263 people from different hospitals of Dhaka City and a total of 5 thousand 649 people from different hospitals across the country outside Dhaka City have received clearance.
At present, a total of 5,441 dengue patients are admitted in hospitals across the country. 3 thousand 347 people are hospitalized in Dhaka city and 2 thousand 94 patients outside Dhaka city.
From January 1 to December 31 last year, a total of 62 thousand 382 patients were admitted to various hospitals in the country and a total of 281 people died due to dengue.
According to the information sent by the Department of Health, the death rate of dengue this year is higher than in the past 5 years. Women are dying more. Males are more affected. 18-40 year olds are more affected and at risk of death. 24 children out of a total of 114 deaths. Death and infection are high in Dhaka city.
