Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that, like the United States and Western countries actively supporting Israel to defend against attacks from Iran, Ukraine would also significantly strengthen its security against Russian aggression if similar measures were taken.
In a report today, April 17, Wednesday, Dutch media stated that due to a shortage of weapons, missiles, and air defense systems, Ukraine is facing setbacks on the battlefield, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky and the country’s military leadership.
In this situation, Zelensky is seeking to convene a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council. He seeks additional missiles and air defense systems from allies to ensure further security of Ukraine’s airspace. Just as Israel managed to fend off Iran’s massive drone and missile attacks last week, Zelensky wants to ensure similar protection in Ukraine’s skies.
Zelensky praised the role of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. During his visit to China, Scholz initiated efforts to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian crisis through discussions with President Xi Jinping, which Zelensky views positively.
Zelensky stated that China could indeed help bring peace back to Ukraine. Notably, in June, hopes are pinned on China’s participation in a peace conference on Ukraine in Switzerland, led by Ukraine’s leadership. However, doubts remain about China’s own peace initiatives.
