Prime Minister visited the Pangu Hospital to see the injured from the recent conflict

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), also known as Pangu Hospital, to see the injured from the recent conflict related to the quota reform movement.

On the morning of Saturday, July 27, the Prime Minister went to NITOR where she spoke with several critically injured patients and inquired about their treatment.

During her conversation with the injured, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was seen becoming emotional.

The Prime Minister assured the injured that all necessary assistance would be provided to ensure they receive proper medical care.

Professor Dr. Kazi Shamim Uzzaman, Director of NITOR, informed the Prime Minister about the treatment of the injured. The Prime Minister instructed the hospital authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure the injured receive proper care.

Among those accompanying the Prime Minister were Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Samant Lal Sen, Health and Family Welfare State Minister Dr. Rokeya Sultana, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain Mia, and Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Naeemul Islam Khan.

Earlier, on Friday afternoon, the Prime Minister visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital to see the injured from the recent conflict. She stated that the government is doing and will continue to do everything necessary for the treatment of the injured.

Before that, on Friday morning, the Prime Minister inspected the damaged Bangladesh Television (BTV) building, and on Thursday morning, she visited the damaged Mirpur 10 Metro Rail Station.

Since July 16, the quota reform movement has led to deadly clashes between protesting students and law enforcement agencies, including the police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), as well as leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations.

This recent conflict between students and law enforcement has resulted in extensive loss of life across the capital, Dhaka, and nationwide, with a large number of students and various professionals being injured.
