Action will be taken to find out the reason for internet shutdown: Nahid Islam

Post and Telecommunication Adviser Nahid Islam said that action will be taken against those involved in internet shutdown during the student movement.

On Sunday (August 11), he came to the ministry’s office for the first time at the secretariat and informed the reporters.

The internet is shut down in words, it causes loss of life in addition to commercial losses, in this regard, Nahid Islam said, “Internet use has become digital rights.” It is a matter of human rights. Shutting down the internet or bringing it to a limited level should be done keeping in mind the human rights issue. So that no one’s human rights are violated, there is free flow of information, everyone including journalists can know the truth.

“I will try today, on the first day, to take action today to investigate the digital crackdown (internet shutdown) in the last movement. ‘

He said, the movement had a price. I think merit will be of utmost importance in our administration. There will be zero tolerance against corruption.

Adviser Nahid said there is a great job opportunity for youth in the ICT sector. Here you have to connect with those who are experienced.

When asked about the challenges of work, he said that there are many types of challenges. I am hopeful that we will be able to properly fulfill the trust that the people have sent us to represent.
