The Meteorological Department has directed to issue local warning signal No. 3 in all the seaports of the country as the sea is rough due to the effect of light pressure. Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Payra and Mongla seaports have been asked to display local warning signal number three.
The light pressure is located in the north-west Bay of Bengal and adjacent coastal areas. Due to this, clouds are forming in the coastal areas of North Bay and adjoining Bangladesh. Southwest monsoon winds (monsoon) have spread across the country. As a result, the tendency of rain is increasing in most parts of the country.
The highest rainfall of 74 mm has been recorded in Kumarkhali of Khulna in the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall recorded in Dhaka at that time was 30 mm. The weather forecast for the next 24 hours said that Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong in many places and some parts of Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may receive showers / thundershowers. Along with that there may be scattered moderate to heavy rains somewhere.
