After six-day break, the budget session of the National Assembly has begun. Speaker of Parliament, Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury is presiding over the session. Due to the corona virus, the session has started following the hygiene rules.
Earlier, the meeting was adjourned on June 7 after the parliament passed the supplementary budget for the current fiscal year 2020-21. The second wave of coronavirus has hit the country, the Indian variant has been identified. Keeping in view this worrying situation of Corona, the Parliament Secretariat has made 56 preparations for the session.
In today’s meeting of the parliament, the general discussion on the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 will begin.
Apart from today, the main budget will be discussed on June 16, 17 and 28. The final discussion and passage of the main budget on June 29, the passage of the original budget and specification bill on Wednesday, June 30, the questions and answer session on Thursday, July 1, the raising of private bills, the passage of government bills and the session will end. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will speak on that day. Top opposition leaders will also address.
