Administering Bangladesh Awami League, the ideological group that drove the nation’s War of Liberation, will commend its 72nd establishing commemoration today.
On this day in 1949, an organization called Awami Muslim League was established in the Rose Garden of Old Dhaka, but later it took a non-communal form and made its debut as Awami League.
The Awami League’s program on the occasion of its founding anniversary includes hoisting national and party flags at the party’s central office and party offices across the country at sunrise on Wednesday and paying homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi.
Awami League Central Executive Parliament will pay homage at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara, Gopalganj at 10:30 am.
Tungipara program in accordance with the rules of health the Awami League Presidium member Lt. Colonel (retd) Muhammad Faruk Khan MP and Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain and Mirza Azam MP, Central Committee members Sahabuddin Faraji and Syed Abdul Awal Shamim will be present.
On the occasion of the founding anniversary, a discussion meeting has been organized by the party at the central office of Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue at 4 pm on Wednesday.
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the discussion from Ganobhaban via video conference.
Obaidul Quader, General Secretary of the party and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, will be hoisting the national and party flags on the glorious 72nd founding anniversary of the establishment of the Awami League. He called upon the leaders, activists and supporters of all levels of Awami League, its allies and fraternal organizations to attend the founding anniversary.
