Brazil settles for a 1-1 draw with Ecuador

Ecuador held a below-strength Brazil to a 1-1 draw on Sunday to safe a spot within the Copa America quarterfinals.

Brazil was in a good mood after securing the quarter-finals with three wins in a row. With Neymar rested, he made a few more changes to the XI and dropped the second-ranked XI. However, it has been interrupted by Brazil’s ten-match winning streak. Anhel Mena secured a ticket to the quarter-finals of Ecuador by scoring the equalizer in the second half, despite Brazil taking the lead through Eder Militao.

Apart from Neymar, Brazil had possession of the ball. However, securing the quarter as the last team in the group against Ecuador was a matter of speculation. However, the disciples of Titus seemed to be sweating as soon as they went to defend the opponent.

Defender Militao also scored a header from Everton’s shot in the 37th minute of the match. However, substitute Mena paid for Ecuador in the 53rd minute after the break. After that Brazil tried something more but could not score.

One team in the five-team group will leave, while the other four teams will advance to the quarter-finals. Who will be Brazil’s opponent in the fight to reach the semi-finals will be decided in today’s match. However, in the situation of Messi’s group, Brazil may have to play against Uruguay.
