UGC asked private university students for information on vaccination

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is taking steps to vaccinate students of all private universities in the country to prevent corona infection. In this regard, all the private universities of the country have been asked to provide information to their students about the vaccination against Covid-19.

The UGC has directed all the students, teachers, staff and employees below the age of 30 to fill up the prescribed forms and send them by July 28.

A letter signed by the Director of UGC has been sent along with the VCs and Registrars of all the private universities. The letter said that in view of the decision of the Ministry of Education, a list of all students of the university and all teachers-officers-employees below 30 years of age has been requested to be sent to the Commission (private.ugcl@gmail.com) by e-mail by July 28.

The ministry has prepared two separate tables for teachers, staff and students. Among these, name, surname, number of national identity card, date of birth, name of district and upazila should be mentioned. In case of students, the name and class of the student should be mentioned in place of the last name.

UGC member Biswajit Chand said that a database needs to be created to bring the students of private universities under vaccination. If the Covid-19 vaccine is not administered to these students on an emergency basis, it will be uncertain to start physical education activities in private universities at the earliest.
