Bangladesh ended the five-match T20 series against Australia with a great win. In the fifth and last match of the series, Australia lost to Bangladesh by a big margin of 60 runs. This is the highest margin of victory for the Tigers against Australia in terms of runs. And Bangladesh won by a big margin of the second highest run in their T20 history.
Bangladesh won the last match of the five-match series 4-1. The Polo Tigers also tasted victory in the first bilateral series against Australia.
After winning the toss in the fifth and final match, Bangladesh batted first and scored 122 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Aussies were bowled out for 62 with 38 balls to spare.
Mujib Centenary is being celebrated across the country on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On this occasion, Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided that all the cricket tournaments and series organized in Bangladesh this year will be in the name of Bangabandhu. The Bangladesh vs Australia series was also named after Bangabandhu. The month of mourning has started in August. Bangabandhu was martyred in August 1975 along with several members of his family.
