‘Thoughts of opening educational institutions step by step from September’

On Wednesday (August 11) at the residence of Minto Road in Dhaka, the Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni said, “The government is thinking of opening educational institutions from September.” However, she said that the re-opening of the educational institution depends on the coronavirus situation.

The Education Minister said, “The government is working on the overall preparations to open all the educational institutions in the country. The government is thinking of opening educational institutions step by step from next September. However, the school and college will not reopen until the coronavirus situation is brought under control.”

“If the coronavirus situation is normal, SSC and HSC exams will be taken in November-December,” she added.

It may be mentioned that due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the government announced the closure of all schools, colleges and universities in the country from March 17, 2020. The government issued a circular on July 29, extending the leave in stages. The notification informed about the decision to close the educational institution till August 31.

The first coronavirus infection in the country was detected on March 8, 2020. Coronavirus died for the first time in the country 10 days later. The day before, the educational institution was declared closed.
