The U.S. military has evacuated more than 3,200 people from Afghanistan. As many as 1,100 people were evacuated on Tuesday alone. A White House official said.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media, said the US military had flown in 13 planes today to evacuate about 1,100 people, including American citizens, permanent residents of the United States and their families.
He said 3,200 people, including US troops, had been evacuated from Afghanistan so far. Among them are about 2,000 Afghans. They have been brought under special immigration.
The Biden government is rushing to repatriate its citizens after Kabul fell to the Taliban on Sunday.
