A fire broke out on the 3rd floor of a 6-storey building in the chairman’s house area in the capital’s Banani. The fire started at 9:10 am on Saturday, according to the fire service’s media cell. 10 fire control units are working.
Ziaur Rahman, an officer in charge of the fire service control room, said a fire broke out on the third floor of a six-storey building in the morning. Ananda TV’s office is on the second floor of the building.
He said 14 units of fire service have been sent to the spot to control the fire. The fire is not under control yet.
The assistant director of the media cell of the fire service said, “No other casualties have been reported so far except for the fire service personnel.” We are trying to find out if anyone is trapped inside the building. ‘
He said, ‘There is a warehouse of an organization called Amicon in that building. There are lots of chemical flammable substances. Due to the heavy smoke, the fire service personnel are having difficulty in approaching the fire.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
