The United States has warned of an attack on Kabul International Airport, the capital of Afghanistan. However, no further information was given about the possible threat of IS. IS has also not publicly threatened to attack Kabul.
The BBC reported on Sunday (August 22nd).
U.S. defence officials said, they are monitoring the situation and trying to find a different route to bring the stranded U.S. citizens to Kabul airport. Only people approved by US government representatives can travel to Kabul Airport. The situation in Afghanistan is being monitored and alternative routes are being sought to evacuate those stranded, including US citizens.
The report added that the United States had expressed concern about a possible IS attack on Kabul airport, but did not provide further details. The IS also did not make a public announcement about the attack on the head of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, about 3,800 passengers are being brought to America by 38 flights from Kabul. The White House tweeted on Saturday night. It has been said that many people have come to America from Afghanistan since July this year.
