Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun has said, Hyundai’s passenger cars will be made in Bangladesh by 2024. As a result, foreign brand cars will be available in the country at a relatively low price. To this end, Hyundai and Fair Technology are jointly setting up a Hyundai passenger vehicle manufacturing plant in Bangladesh. The factory will be set up at Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park in Kaliakair, Gazipur.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of Fair Technologies-Hyundai ‘Three S Center’ organized by Fair Group.
The event was held at the Hyundai Three S Center in the capital’s Tejgaon.
Chairman of Fair Group Ruhul Amal Al Mahbub was the special guest while Capt. AB, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Disaster Management and Relief was the special guest. Tajul Islam (Retd.) Ambassador of Bangladesh to Korea Lee Zhang-kyun was present as the guest of honor.
Among others, Mutasim Dayan, Director and CEO of Fair Technology Limited and Major General (Retd.) Hamid R Chowdhury, Advisor to Fair Group were present.
Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving opportunity to international organizations to work in Bangladesh besides developing domestic industries. As a result, customers of car manufacturers and sellers will now be able to purchase, sell after-sales services and buy spare parts in the country.
