Germany’s Kick has helped buy vaccines for garment workers

Famous German brand Kick has donated to buy corona vaccine for garment workers in Bangladesh. Kick provided the grant through BGMEA, which will be sent to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Since the government is responsible for the purchase and distribution of vaccines.

This information was given in a press release sent by BGMEA on Tuesday (September 7).

It said, Kick had given the grant as part of its sense of social responsibility as a longtime partner in Bangladesh’s garment industry. In addition to buying clothes from Bangladesh, Kick has been involved in social projects in the country for many years and has set up various charities such as schools and health centers.

“As a result of our many years of close cooperation, we are very much aware of the impact of the Corona epidemic in the country, especially in the garment industry,” said Patrick Jahan, CEO of Kick. Workers in this industry work indoors, where there is a high risk of infection. I think vaccines can provide the most protection against coronavirus, no doubt. With this grant, we want to play a role in protecting Bangladesh’s garment industry workers against coronavirus in the best possible way.

BGMEA President Farooq Hasan praised the initiative of the German brand. He said, the garment industry is contributing as the most important pillar in the economy of Bangladesh. The sector has been severely affected by the Corona epidemic and has yet to recover. It is very important for all workers and employees to be vaccinated to protect the economy of this country. Many thanks to the German company Kick for this grant. The BGMEA President also mentioned that their grant would play a helpful role in vaccinating the garment industry workers in Bangladesh.
