Hasan launches teaser of film ‘Chiranjeeb Mujib’

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud today launched the teaser of the movie- ‘Chiranjeeb Mujib’.

The minister inaugurated three teasers of the movie based on “Osomapto Atmajibani” of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, dedicated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana at the meeting room of his ministry at Secretariat here.

 Additional secretary Md Faruque Ahmed, director of the film and dialogue written by Nazrul Islam, creative director Jewel Mahmud and producer Litan Haider, among others, were present at the function.

Hasan extended his gratitude to the Premier for giving time in making the film.

He said the book of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ‘Osomapto Atmajibani’ was translated into different languages and crores of people of the world read the book. “But, no film was produced on this book. I would like to extend my gratitude to Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the movie,” said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.

The minister extended thanks to the director and producer of the film.

He said the people of other countries could know about the life and works and struggle of Bangabandhu if the film is dubbed in other languages.

Ahmed Rubel has played the role of Bangabandhu in the film while Purnima played the role of Begum Fazilatunnesa. Kahirul Alam Sabuj and Dilara Zaman played the role of Bangabandhu’s father and mother respectively.

Nazrul said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the film by signing three posters on June 23 last. They have a plan to release the movie at country’s cinema halls soon, he added.

Earlier, Hasan paid rich tribute to martyr Sheikh Russel marking his 58th birthday and other martyrs of August 15 carnage at Banani graveyard along with Awami League leaders.  

Later in the afternoon, the minister joined a discussion organised by the Department of Films and Publications (DFP) marking the Sheikh Russel Day in city’s Kakrail.

In his speech, Hasan said the children should be nurtured as good human beings by awaking them with merit, values, affection and patriotism with remembering the memory of Shaheed Sheikh Russel.

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Murad Hasan, additional secretary Faruque Ahmed and Press Institute of Bangladesh director general Zafar Wazed, among others, addressed the discussion with DFP director general SM Golam Kibria in the chair.

Hasan said the kingpins who were behind the killing mission on August 15 should be tried. Murad said it is the time of demand of posthumous trial of Ziaur Rahman.
