The Prime Minister inaugurated the book fair

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated ‘Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2022’ organized by Bangla Academy. She announced the inauguration of the book fair on Tuesday (February 15) at 4:30 pm by virtually joining Ganobhaban.

Speaking at the inaugural function, the Prime Minister said, “It is much more fun to turn a page with a book in hand than to read a book on a digital device.” If I don’t read the book, I don’t think I know what happened. This fair is the fair of our lives, and if this fair cannot be held for some reason, we all feel bad.

She said that a nation could continuously improve if its language and culture improve. In each of our movements, our culture has contributed. Poets, writers, writers, cultural activists have all contributed to our campaign and our achievements.

Note that the 38th book fair will continue till February 28. The central theme of this year’s book fair is ‘Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of Independence.

Although the book fair is scheduled to start on February 1, the book fair is starting in the middle of the month due to the coronavirus situation. The book fair will be open daily from 2 pm to 9 pm except for holidays. No one will be able to enter the fair again after 8 pm, and the book fair will be held on holidays from 11 am to 9 pm. Besides, the great Ekushey February fair will start from 8 am and continue till 9 pm.

The book fair will be held on the premises of Bangla Academy and the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in an area of ​​about 7 lakh square feet. The fair has 35 pavilions with 142 units for 102 institutions in the academy premises and 634 units for 432 institutions in the Suhrawardy Udyan section; 776 teams have been allotted to 534 institutions.
