BNP leaders can do nothing except telling lies: Hasan

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud yesterday said BNP leaders can do nothing except telling lies and most of the central leaders of the party lie to topple each other.

“BNP’s top leaders have become perplexed as some of the party (BNP) leaders said that the new Election Commission is neutral and good. Currently, they (BNP) are hatching conspiracy and trying to spread rumours,” he said.

The minister added: “Social platforms have an impact on politics. For this, all leaders and activists (Awami League) should remain alert and active against the conspiracy.”

Hasan stated these while addressing the triennial conference of Awami League Sirajganj district unit on Sirajganj Government College ground.

He said the BNP becomes scared when the party hears about elections. In fact, BNP doesn’t want the elections as convicted Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman could not take part in the polls, he added.

He said the dedicated leaders will be brought to power and none could buy the politics in lieu of money. The leaders and activists who gave their labour devotedly will be brought to the power, said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.

He said the world leaders are praising the role and leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. But the BNP leaders could not praise the leadership of the Premier as they are not seeing the development, he added.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader addressed the conference virtually as the chief guest while AL Presidium Member Abdur Rahman inaugurated it.

Acting general secretary of the district unit Md Abdus Samad Talukder conducted the conference with its acting president Advocate KM Hossain Ali Hasan in the chair.
