Today is Friday, March 18, the Holy Shab-e-Barat. Devout Muslims will celebrate Shabe Barat with special prayers, recite the Quran, and participate in other religious rituals day and night with due religious dignity, seeking Allah’s mercy.
On this glorious night, devout Muslims will be engrossed in more and more supererogatory prayers, recitation of the Qur’an and remembrance in the hope of gaining the grace of the Most Merciful. Many people fast, give alms, and pray for forgiveness of past sins and the welfare of future life.
Apart from Ibadat-Bandegi, various delicacies including haluya, firni, ruti will be prepared from house to house. These meals will be distributed among relatives, neighbours and the poor. Many will go to the graveyard in the morning after praying all night. Pray for the forgiveness of the souls of your loved ones who are lying in eternal sleep.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have given different messages on the occasion of quoting the holy Shab-e-Barat.
Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned fireworks in the holy Shab-e-Barat. In a press release, the DMP said that to protect the sanctity of Shab-e-Barat and ensure a fair and peaceful celebration, the carrying and detonation of explosives, fireworks, fireworks, other harmful and polluting substances has been banned from 6 pm on Friday to 6 am on Saturday.
