There is no need for UN cooperation in elections: Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Dr. on the question of UN cooperation in the election of the National Parliament of Bangladesh. AK Abdul Momen said, “We don’t need any help from the United Nations.” Because we are mature enough. We have created the necessary institutions for elections, for beautiful, transparent, acceptable elections. He said these things while talking to reporters after the meeting with UN Resident Representative Gwen Lewis. The foreign minister said, ‘We have prepared a transparent voter list. Biometric voter list, to avoid any kind of fraud or bogus voting. We have created a strong Election Commission. They have considerable capacity. That’s why we don’t need any help from others. However, Abdul Momen said that the government has no objection to foreign observers in the election and said, “We have no objection to the observers in the election.” Although many developed countries do not take them. But we don’t mind taking it. We welcome them (observers). Let them come and see how beautiful, transparent, and happy the elections are in our country. Elections are not held in such a happy atmosphere in their country. Foreign observers can learn by watching elections in Bangladesh. Let them learn by watching.
