BNP does not believe in democracy: Information Minister

Hasan Mahmud said, ‘We want all political parties including BNP to participate in the next election. The country’s democracy will be consolidated. It is very sad for BNP that when the country is celebrating 50 years of the National Parliament, they are not in Parliament. They do not believe in parliamentary democracy or parliamentary democracy. That’s why they resigned a few days ago even though they are in parliament.’ He also said, ‘BNP thought that if they resign from Parliament, there will be a shake-up in the government, the government will shake and fall. But nothing happened to the government, it took a little sting, nothing more.’ The information minister described the work of all journalists, including camera journalists, as very important for the state and society. He said, ‘Media is the fourth pillar of the state. The country will move forward through the sincere work of all concerned with it. TCA President Sheikh Mahbub Alam presided over the meeting and General Secretary Shahidul Haq Zaiba moderated Awami League Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League Vice President Bir Muktijoddha MA Quader Khan, Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League Former General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, Chairman of Asian TV.
