Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left for Italy to attend the Food System Summit organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
The Prime Minister left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Qatar Airways flight (QR-643) at 5:05 am on Sunday (July 23).
After a transit stop in Doha, he will fly to Rome on another Qatar Airways flight (QR-131). The Prime Minister is expected to reach Rome after 2 pm local time.
Deputy Leader of Parliament Matia Chowdhury, Minister of Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali, Council of Ministers Secretary, Chief Secretary, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary, Chief of three forces, Inspector General of Police and senior military and civil officials bid farewell to the Prime Minister at Dhaka Airport.
During the visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will also hold a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, besides participating in the United Nations Food System Summit.
After this meeting, two memorandums of understanding on energy cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries may be signed in a press conference on Thursday (July 20), Foreign Minister said. AK Abdul Momen.
Also, Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Director General of United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Qu Dongyu and President of International Fund of Agricultural Development (IFAD) Alvaro Lario will meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her visit to Rome.
During this visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will participate in the Regional Envoy Conference with the ambassadors of Bangladesh appointed in various European countries. Besides, expatriates living in Italy will attend the civic reception organized by the Bangladeshi community.
After the tour, he will leave for Dhaka on a Qatar Airways flight next Wednesday (July 26) in the morning local time. On the same day, the Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka around 2 pm Bangladesh time.
