The Prime Minister is on his way to Dhaka after his visit to Italy

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left for Dhaka after the Food System Summit organized by United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome.

He left for the country on a Qatar Airways flight from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport at 9:45am local time on Wednesday (July 26).

After a transit break in Doha, the Prime Minister will reach Dhaka on another Qatar Airways flight. The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka around 2:00 PM Bangladesh time.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Rome, Italy on Sunday (July 23) afternoon local time to attend the Food System Summit organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) at the invitation of the UN Secretary General.

During the visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, besides participating in the United Nations Food System Summit.

After the meeting, two MoUs were exchanged between the two countries on energy cooperation and cultural exchange.

Also during her visit to Rome, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met with Nepali Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, three ministers of Italy – Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and Justice Minister Carlo Nordio, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Director General Q Dongiu, International Fund of Agricultural Development (IFAD) President Alvaro Lario.

During this visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina participated in the regional ambassadors’ conference with the ambassadors of Bangladesh appointed in various European countries. Besides, he attended the civic reception organized by the expatriate Bangladeshi community living in Italy.
