Dhaka: The country’s 23rd Chief Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui is retiring on September 25. But as the Supreme Court was on vacation at that time, Thursday (August 31) is the last working day of his judicial career.
According to the rules, the Attorney General’s Office and the Supreme Court Bar Association will give him a farewell reception in the number one courtroom of the Appellate Division on this day. President Md. Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui as the Chief Justice at Bangabhaban on Friday 31st December 2021. Abdul Hamid recited the oath. He will turn 67 on September 25. So according to the constitution he will retire on that day.
Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui was born on September 26, 1956 in Kushtia. After completing his studies, Hasan joined the District Court as a lawyer on 21 August 1981. Joined High Court on 4 September 1983 and Appellate Division on 27 May 1999.
Hasan Faiz Siddiqui was Legal Advisor to Ministry of Home Affairs, Khulna City Corporation, Kushtia Municipality, Jalalabad Gas Transmission Company. He was also Additional Attorney General of Bangladesh. Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui was appointed to the High Court Division on March 25, 2009 and to the Appellate Division on March 31, 2013. Besides, he served as the chairman of the Judicial Service Commission from April 30, 2015.
