Anti-narcotics drive: 28 cases filed as DMP arrests 34 in 24-hr

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Sunday (September 03) arrested 34 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement today.

They seized 940 pieces of Yaba tablets, 1.7kg of hemp, 4gm of heroin, 27 bottles of phensedyl and 23 bottles of foreign wine from their possessions, according to the statement.

According to the statement, 28 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
