PSC announced when 45th BCS written exam

The written examination for the 45th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) has not yet been scheduled, and the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has not reached a final decision on this matter. The PSC has stated that the process of preparing the examination questions is ongoing, and the date for the examination will be finalized after the question preparation is completed. Initially, there were discussions about holding the written examination in October.

To know more about this, multiple sources within the PSC have informed Prothom Alo that the PSC is currently engaged in the process of question preparation for the 45th BCS. They emphasize that the date of the examination will be determined only after the question preparation is completed. The reasoning behind this approach is to avoid uncertainty in case any unforeseen circumstances prevent the timely preparation of the questions. Therefore, the PSC is prioritizing the question preparation process.

In the previous year, the results of the preliminary examination for the 45th BCS were published by the PSC on June 6. Out of a total of 346,119 candidates who participated in the preliminary examination, 12,789 candidates passed. The PSC published the results of the preliminary examination in the shortest possible time compared to previous BCS exams. The examination was held on May 19.

In terms of recruitment, a total of 2,309 candidates will be recruited through the 45th BCS. Among them, 2,309 will be recruited in various cadres. The highest number of appointments will be in the medical cadre, with 539 positions for Assistant and Dental Surgeons. Following that, the education cadre will see the recruitment of 437 candidates. After that, 80 candidates will be recruited in the police cadre, 54 in the customs cadre, and 274 in the administration cadre.
