Two Bangladeshis named in Vogue Business 100 Innovators 2023

Two Bangladeshis Mostafiz Uddin founder of ‘Bangladesh Apparel Exchange’ and Tawhida Shiropa founder ‘Moner Bondhu’ have been listed in Vogue Business 100 Innovators 2023.

Both of them have been selected in the list as a ‘Sustainability Thought Leader’.

Mostafiz Uddin’s Bangladesh Apparel Exchange has been proactive in implementing and advocating for ethical and sustainable business practices, particularly in areas like sourcing, waste management, and workforce conditions. Prior to this, Mostafiz Uddin was also named among the world’s most influential figures in the field of denim.

On the other hand, Tawhida Shiropa is a former journalist who spent around a decade working for the Daily Prothom Alo. Her startup, Moner Bondhu, clinched ICT Division’s Best Startup Award at Digital World back in 2017.

Vogue is a noted internationally renowned fashion magazine. Vogue Business annually acknowledges a selection of global change-makers who contribute significantly to making the fashion and beauty industries more sustainable. The list for 2023 is divided into five categories: Tech and Web3 Innovators, Sustainability Thought Leaders, Next-gen Entrepreneurs and Agitators, Beauty Disruptors, and Champions of Change.

The Vogue Business 100 Innovators’ is an annual announcement of the internationally renowned magazine where it names top 100 change makers from across the world for their outstanding contribution to make the fashion industry more sustainable.

‘The annual Vogue Business 100 Innovators 2023 list returns with a fresh roster of leaders, founders and activists who are being recognised for their work as they rewrite the playbooks for fashion and beauty from the inside out’ said the Vogue.

This year, the Vogue Business 100 Innovators has been classified in 5 categories   — ‘Tech and Web3 Innovators’, ‘Sustainability Thought Leaders’, ‘Next-gen Entrepreneurs and Agitators’, ‘Beauty Disruptors’ and ‘Champions of Change’.
