Ukraine will not be able to become a member of NATO before the end of the war: Secretary General

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has stated that there is no possibility of Ukraine joining NATO before the end of the war. He made this announcement during a regular meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Friday in New York.

Stoltenberg mentioned that Ukraine will not become a member of NATO while the conflict is ongoing. He stated that in the current situation, it is not possible to grant Ukraine membership. He emphasized that such authorization is not available to us.

He further explained that after the end of the war and the establishment of a lasting peace, there may be a possibility for Ukraine to become a NATO member. The attainment of NATO membership is closely related to the conclusion of the conflict and the assurance of a stable peace. These aspects are interconnected.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg suggests that Ukraine’s inclusion in NATO is becoming increasingly likely as events such as the sending of Western military aid and the training of Ukraine’s armed forces continue to unfold.
