Ukraine drone attack on Russian power substation

In a village in Russia, a power station has fallen victim to a drone attack from Ukraine. The village is located near the Ukrainian border.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has reported that more than a dozen drones were used to strike in the Belaya village of Ukraine’s Kursk and Kulyaga regions.

The Ukrainian drone targeted the electricity substation in the village of Belaya. It is located less than 25 kilometers from the border. Roman Starovoyt, the regional governor of Kursk, sent a message on the messaging app Telegram on Friday morning, saying that a Ukrainian drone had bombed an electricity substation in Ukraine.

He stated that a transformer had caught fire, causing power supply disruptions in five settlements and a hospital. Emergency workers have been dispatched to the scene, and power supply will be restored as soon as possible.

The Russian authorities had previously stated that two Ukrainian drones were shot down in the neighboring Belgorod region. The Ministry of Defense of the country reported that the first drone was downed at 5 pm local time on Thursday, and the second was shot down four hours later.

Russia’s state news agency TASS cited the Ministry of Defense as saying that ten Ukrainian drones were shot down in the Kursk region at night, and one drone hit Kaluga region.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has escalated its attacks in the Russian region. Various Russian regions have been frequently targeted by Ukrainian drones, resulting in damaged buildings and even an attack in Moscow.
