US doesn’t want to influence election results: Matthew Miller

Dhaka: The spokesperson of the United States State Department, Mathieu Miller, has stated regarding Bangladesh’s election that the United States does not endorse any particular party. They do not want to influence the outcome of the election; they want the people of Bangladesh to be able to choose their leadership independently, and that is the only thing they want to ensure.

On Monday, October 2nd, during a regular press conference, Mathieu Miller said this in response to a question.

In response to a question, Miller stated that Bangladeshis should have what they desire, and the United States wants the same. They desire a free and fair election, one that is conducted peacefully. The government of Bangladesh, political parties, civil society, and the media have all expressed their desire for an upcoming national election to be free, fair, and conducted peacefully, just as we want it. We have made this announcement with this objective in mind. It supports the aspirations of the people of Bangladesh to elect their leaders independently.
