“After a week of conflict with Hamas, Israel has released a video. On October 7th, Palestinian Islamic armed group Hamas kidnapped several Israelis and held them captive. It is from among these captives that Hamas has released a video.
In an incident referred to as the ’21-year-old Mia Scheme,’ a woman was abducted by Hamas on October 7th. In the recently released video, Mia recounts how she received medical assistance. She had injuries on her hand, for which she received medical attention.
In just a minute-long video, we see someone applying a bandage to Mia’s wound. She says, ‘They (Hamas) are taking care of me. Everything is fine. I’m just telling them to take me home to my parents and siblings.’
With a plea in her voice, Mia says, ‘Please get me out of here.’ This plea for mercy also extends to Israel’s military, as it surrounds her statements. The video shared on Telegram by Hamas has been termed as a part of the ‘psychological warfare.’
Maya Shem is an Israeli-French citizen. Reuters reports that her family had appealed to French President Emmanuel Macron last week for assistance in their daughter’s release.”
