President Joe Biden believes that one of the aims of Hamas’s attacks is to hinder the normalization process of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel. He stated, “They know that I’m sitting with the Saudis, discussing with them about moving forward with the relationship with Israel.”
On October 7, Hamas, a pro-Palestinian independence organization, initiated an attack on Israel from Gaza. Since then, Israel’s military has been conducting retaliatory strikes in Gaza.
During a press event yesterday, President Biden mentioned that the issue of establishing relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel is a matter affected by the recent Hamas attacks. He also referred to it during an interview on CBS’s “Sixty Minutes,” stating that the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Israel is “still intact, just a matter of timing.”
