Hamas wanted to release the two hostages, Israel “did not agree to take”.

“In a Humanitarian Perspective, Hamas Sought to Release Two Israelis, but Israel Refused,” said Hamas, the Palestinian resistance organization in Gaza. Israel has labeled this demand from Hamas as ‘grotesque propaganda.’

Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, stated on Telegram social media platform yesterday evening, “In a humanitarian gesture, we wanted to release Norit Itzhak and Yocheved Lifsitz, our Qatari brothers were informed about this. In return, we didn’t ask for anything. However, the occupying Israeli government has expressed their refusal to accept them.”

Earlier, on last Friday, Hamas released two American citizens, Judith Ranan (59) and her daughter Natali Ranan (18), with the mediation of Qatar.

On the other hand, Hamas spokesperson Khalid Al-Qaddoumi criticized Israel’s rejection of accepting the two hostages, stating, “This clearly proves that Israel is not interested in ending the bloodshed.”

Khalid Al-Qaddoumi added, “Considering the extremely humane situation, we wanted to transfer them (the two hostages) to our Qatari brothers for onward delivery to their own families. We informed them about this last night. We didn’t make any demands in return.”

Khalid Al-Qaddoumi further stated, “Unfortunately, the Israeli government, in an unfortunate turn of events, did not agree to accept them. This proves that the occupying government is insincere, and they are not ready to stop the bloodshed.”
