Opportunity to Study in the USA With Fulbright Scholarship

The application process for the 2024-25 session of the “Fulbright Visiting Scholar” program has commenced. In the last 50 years, 165 Bangladeshis have participated in this exchange program. Among the former Fulbright Visiting Scholars are educators, researchers, high-ranking government officials, and development professionals. Notable former Bangladeshi students include Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus. In the current year’s Fulbright Visiting Scholar program, applications are being accepted for full funding for study in the United States.

The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka announced in a press release that funding will be provided for research and teaching at any U.S. institution within one academic year. Experienced Bangladeshi professionals in the public and private sectors, university professors, and researchers with over 10 years of professional experience are eligible to apply for research or teaching work. Bangladeshi nationals are also eligible to apply for this fellowship.

The purpose of the Fulbright Visiting Scholar program is to provide funding for highly motivated professionals with a Ph.D. or equivalent professional degree to conduct research and teach in their specialized fields. Applicants must have a strong command of the English language to work professionally in U.S. universities.

Universities, administration, curriculum development, distance education, educational technology, public health, biology, pharmacy, climate change and disaster management, urban planning, and international relations are especially emphasized for educational-related disciplines. In all these fields, some small grants will also be provided for curriculum development and training, as well as academic materials and assessments for secondary and higher education institutions. Applicants for professional expertise must have proficiency in the English language.

Benefits of the Fulbright Program include travel expenses, monthly stipends to cover living and incidental costs, tuition and academic fees, health and accident insurance, travel allowance, and additional luggage allowance.
