The press conference for the Pakistan team took place earlier, after South Africa. The day before the match, Pakistan’s vice-captain Shadab Khan came and said that the match against South Africa was a do-or-die battle for them. It’s not just this match, every match is now like that for Pakistan. And Shadab and his team want to win every battle for survival. The start of that winning streak, perhaps, will begin with tomorrow’s match against South Africa.
Journalists present at the press conference echoed Shadab Khan’s words in the ears of South African captain Temba Bavuma. When Pakistan is thinking like this, will Bavuma come up with any new plans for today’s match, they asked. In response to such questions, Bavuma said, “Our team’s plan will be like any other five-match series.” However, he also referred to Pakistan as a ‘formidable team’ and mentioned that they are prepared for their own challenges.
