The Metro Rail Going to Motijheel has been Crowded since Morning

Dhaka: Massive crowds on every Metro Rail train from Uttara North Station to Motijheel. Even more passengers than Sunday (November 5), the crowd is increasing every 10 minutes.

Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday (November 6), Metro Rail services run every 10 minutes. Metro Rail departs on time from Motijheel to Uttara North and Uttara North to Motijheel.

Upon reaching Farmgate Metro Rail Station, it can be observed that passengers are boarding from both directions. The station is full of people from 7 am.

Though there was less crowding on the Metro Rail from Farmgate to Uttara North Station, there was more crowding on every Metro Rail from Motijheel to Uttara North. Shafiq Rahman, a private sector employee, boards the Metro Rail from Farmgate.

At this time, he told BanglaNews, “I live in West Rajabazar, near Farmgate. Sometimes, it takes up to an hour to get to Motijheel from here. If there’s less traffic, it takes about 30 minutes. It takes only 10 minutes by Metro Rail to get to the office from home.”

After coming to Motijheel Station by Metro Rail, Saajib Hossain says, “I saw many people getting on the Metro Rail from the Pallabi Station. Earlier, when I used to go to Agargaon by Metro Rail, I used to take a bus to go further. At that time, Agargaon had a considerable crowd. But now there is a significant crowd at Motijheel and Secretariat Station too.”

They hope that the long traffic jams during office hours will decrease. On the other hand, today is the second day of the 48-hour general strike called by the BNP-Jamaat. There was no impression of that on the Metro Rail.
