Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has observed the sacred Umrah pilgrimage in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
On Monday morning, she performed the Tawaf around the Holy Kaaba in Makkah with her younger sister Sheikh Rehana and other fellow travellers.
After performing the Tawaf and other rituals at the Holy Kaaba, she offered prayers at the Masjid al-Haram.
At this time, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina offered special prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity of Bangladesh and its people, as well as the entire Muslim Ummah.
Accompanying the Prime Minister during the Umrah pilgrimage were Foreign Minister Dr A.K. Abdul Momen, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Private Industry and Investment, Salman F. Rahman, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, and State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatunnesa Indira.
Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina offered Maghrib prayers with the congregation at the Masjid al-Haram.
Before this, she had arrived in Jeddah by air after performing the holy Ziyarat of the sacred Roza of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) in Madinah and offering prayers at the Mosque of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Following the completion of her religious activities, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Makkah from Jeddah by road.
