Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned to Dhaka after attending an international conference on women in Islam in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
She arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on a regular flight from Biman Bangladesh Airlines at 7:41 a.m. on Wednesday (November 8). The Prime Minister went directly to Madinah from Dhaka on Sunday (November 5). On the first day of the Saudi Arabia trip, she performed the Roza Mobarak of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
At night, the Prime Minister flew from Madinah to Jeddah. From Jeddah, she immediately went to Makkah and performed Umrah in Haram Sharif and prayed in the mosque. On the second day of the trip, at 6 p.m., she attended the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition titled “Women in Islam” at the Jeddah Hilton. After that, the Prime Minister participated in an international conference on women in Islam and delivered a speech.
During the conference at Jeddah Hilton, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also held meetings with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Vice President of Iran’s Department of Women and Family Affairs, Ensiyeh Khazali, and the Director-General of the OIC Women’s Development Organization, Dr. Afnan Al-Shuaibi, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
This international conference is taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from November 6 to 8, organized by the OIC in coordination with the OIC General Secretariat.
