Twenty years ago, Rubel Parvez started his education journey by tutoring while facing the loss of his father. He took on the responsibility of easing the financial burden on his mother and siblings. This marked the beginning of the family’s dream of finding happiness as he aspired to secure a government job after completing his undergraduate and postgraduate studies. However, Rubel Parvez’s life journey has come to a halt on the roads due to the struggles he faced.
Rubel Parvez, aged 30, hailing from the village of Kaowaljani in the Upazila of Mirzapur, Tangail, had his residence there. Yesterday morning, he lost his life in a bus accident at Dhaka’s Dhamrai bus stand named Selfie Paribahan. Another person also lost his life in the same accident.
Rubel Parvez had achieved recommendations in the education cadre in the 41st Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exam. Aspiring for success in the administrative cadre, he participated in the oral examination of the 42nd BCS. He used to work at Mercantile Bank’s Jhitka branch in Manikganj. He resided in the Bagongor area of Dhamrai municipality. The accident occurred while waiting for the bus to go to his workplace.
Yesterday afternoon, Rubel Parvez’s lifeless body was brought to his home in the village of Mordi in Mirzapur after the Asr prayer. The heartbreaking scene of his elderly mother, Kulsom Begum, was heart-wrenching. She repeatedly lamented, “I have lost my husband. I am going through so much pain. I can’t understand what to do without him.” Rubel’s wife, Farzana Afrin, was repeatedly fainting, expressing her grief. She was in tears, contemplating where to go with their one-year-old daughter.
After the Asr prayer, at Mirzapur’s Bande Kaowaljani, the funeral procession took Rubel’s body to the village graveyard. Abdul Bashed Mia, a retired teacher from Mirzapur’s Bande Kaowaljani Kadem Ali High School, informed that in the Friday prayer after Rubel’s death, the respected attendees at the mosque prayed for him. His death has left everyone in silent sorrow.
