Application for admission in DU starts today

The application process for admission to the undergraduate programs at Dhaka University for the academic year 2023-2024 will commence online today, Monday. The application process will start at 12:00 PM and will continue until January 5th.

Dr. A.S.M. Kamal, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, will inaugurate the online application process. The admission test for the undergraduate programs will be conducted through four units: Arts, Law, and Social Sciences Unit; Science Unit; Business Studies Unit; and Fine Arts Unit. The respective unit admission tests will commence on February 23rd (Friday), March 1st (Friday), February 24th (Saturday), and March 9th (Saturday).

All unit admission tests will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The admit cards for the admission tests of the respective units can be downloaded from February 8th (Thursday). Apart from the Fine Arts Unit, the other three units will have a multiple-choice question (MCQ) section of 60 marks and a written exam of 40 marks. Only the Fine Arts Unit admission test will consist of a 40-mark MCQ exam and a 60-mark drawing test. The duration for the MCQ exam for all units is 45 minutes, and the written exam is 45 minutes.

The minimum eligibility criteria for prospective applicants include passing the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent examination between 2018 and 2021 and passing the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examination in 2023. The grading system for admission will consider the total GPA in the SSC and HSC examinations (excluding the 4th subject). Additionally, a bonus of 20 marks will be awarded based on the result of the admission test (100 marks).
