Corona infection in the country is on the rise again, albeit slowly. A new type of corona has already been detected in the country.

Public health experts believe that infections are increasing due to new strains.

On Friday (January 26), 34 people were newly identified in the country in the last 24 hours. In total, the number of infected people is 20 lakh 46 thousand 935.

The infection situation was relaxed after June-July last year. For more than a week of this month, the rate of corona infection in the country is above 5 percent.

As the infection is increasing in the country, the government’s National Technical Advisory Committee on Corona has advised to take four-point measures including wearing masks.

On behalf of the advisory committee, it is recommended to vaccinate the vulnerable population, increase surveillance in the country by reviewing the global infection, make preparations for Covid tests, rapid treatment including ICU in case of future infection and make preparations for screening of travelers coming from abroad.

When asked about the current corona situation in the country, the former director of the disease control department of the Department of Health and the former chief scientific officer of IEDCR, Dr. Benazir Ahmed told BanglaNews, “At the moment, we don’t have much to worry about.” But we have to make some preparations in advance. After two or three months, the main season of Corona may start in Bangladesh. Then many corona can be affected.

When asked about what to do, he said, we now need to increase the surveillance of corona. It should be seen in which way, who is affected more, in whom the severity is more. Gradually strengthening hygiene, arranging for remaining doses of the corona vaccine to those who have not received it, or who have received one dose.

Director of Pathology, Disease Control and Research Institute (IEDCR) Dr. Tahmina Shireen said that the upward trend of corona infection is being observed again. Already new types are coming to the country. It has been identified in the bodies of five people. A full infection can start at any time. Everyone should be aware, hygiene rules should be followed strictly. New strains can spread quickly if hygiene is not followed.
