Speaker of the National Parliament, Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury MP, has returned to the country after attending the ‘Women Speakers Summit’ in Paris, France, and the ‘Commonwealth 75 Special Celebration’ conference in London, United Kingdom. She arrived in the country on Thursday evening.
During her visit to France, Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, along with 25 women speakers from around the world, including President Emmanuel Macron of France, attended a meeting.
During her visit to the United Kingdom, Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, along with the speakers from Commonwealth member countries, including Speaker Lindsay Hoyle of the House of Commons, attended a meeting.
Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury also participated in a discussion titled ‘Leveraging Parliamentary Democracy for Political Empowerment of Women: Bangladesh Perspective’ organized by the Bangladesh High Commission in the Churchill Hall of the House of Commons. Additionally, she had the privilege of exchanging views and insights with Speaker Baroness McFall of Alcluith of the House of Lords.
