Intense heatwaves are ongoing across the country. A heat alert has been issued. The meteorological office has forecasted thunderstorms and hailstorms with a speed of 60 kilometers per hour in three districts of the country.
On Sunday, April 21, in two locations of Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Chittagong divisions, temporary squalls or whirlwinds with a speed of 45-60 kilometers per hour, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms, or rain with lightning may occur. Additionally, scattered hailstorms may occur in some parts of the country within the next 72 hours. Moreover, partially cloudy skies along with dry weather may prevail elsewhere.
Besides, intense heatwaves and moderate to mild heatwaves are prevailing over Bagerhat, Jessore, Chuadanga, and Kushtia districts, and continuous heat flow is being observed over Dinajpur, Rangamati, Chandpur, Khulna, Satkhira, Barisal, and Patuakhali districts, including Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions, which may remain uninterrupted. Day and night temperatures may rise throughout the country. Increased humidity may cause discomfort.
On Monday (April 22) after 9 a.m., temporary squalls or whirlwinds, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms, or rain with lightning may occur in two locations of Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Scattered hailstorms may also occur in some places.
Additionally, partially cloudy skies along with dry weather may prevail elsewhere. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged throughout the country.
On Saturday, the highest temperature recorded in the country was 42.6 degrees Celsius in Jessore and 42.3 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga. The lowest temperature was in Rajarhat and Sylhet at 22.08 degrees Celsius.”
