She has urged the leaders and workers of the Awami League to spread the ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman alongside working for the development of the country and its people.
She stated, “Alongside spreading the ideals of Bangabandhu, it is necessary to work for the development of the country and its people.”
A delegation of the Awami League met at their party office in Thailand on Friday (April 26), where the Prime Minister conveyed this call.

Referring to the inspiration of Bangabandhu, Sheikh Hasina said to the leaders and workers, “Though the Father of the Nation was assassinated untimely, his ideals are still alive within us, and that’s why I am working to implement his ideals in reality. Bangabandhu dreamed of bringing smiles to the faces of the poor and distressed people of the country.”
Referring to the significant progress and development of the country in the last 15 years, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina said, “Due to uninterrupted power for a long time, this progress has been possible.”
The leaders and workers told the Prime Minister that many Bangladeshis have acquired Thai citizenship. However, they want dual citizenship to be maintained. They expressed their desire for the Prime Minister’s intervention on this dual citizenship issue.
In response, the Prime Minister said she would discuss the matter with the Thai government.
