The Government Wants to Move the Country Forward with Believers of All Religions: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has stated that Bangladesh has set an example of religious harmony in the world. She mentioned that her government aims to advance the country by including believers of all religions.

She said, “We want our country to move forward. Bangladesh always wants to progress with people of all religions.”

Sheikh Hasina remarked, “I believe we have been able to set an example globally by building a non-communal spirit in Bangladesh.”

The Prime Minister made these remarks this afternoon at her official residence, Ganabhaban, during an exchange of greetings with religious leaders and prominent figures of the Buddhist community on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the largest religious festival of the Buddhist community.

She said, “We want to build our country. Here, there is no distinction based on race, religion, or color. We work for the people. We work for the overall and socio-economic development of people.”

Sheikh Hasina added, “There are many who try to lead Bangladesh in a different direction. But they will not succeed. The mindset of the people of Bangladesh is very open. We prefer to move forward together. And that’s how we will proceed.”
