HSC and Equivalent Exams Start Sunday

 

Due to flooding, the HSC and equivalent exams in the Sylhet division have been postponed until July 8. However, the exams will resume from July 9 as per the original schedule, according to the Ministry of Education.

Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury will not visit the exam centers but will brief journalists at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital.

To ensure a fair and smooth exam environment, free from rumors of question leaks and cheating, all coaching centers will remain closed from June 29 to August 11.

The Ministry of Education has announced that all candidates (regular, irregular, and improvement) for the HSC exams 2024 will take the exams in all subjects with full marks and full duration according to the revised curriculum of 2024, developed by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board, Bangladesh.

The theoretical exams for the General Education Boards will start on June 30 and end on August 11. Practical exams will be held from August 12 to August 21. For the Madrasa Education Board, theoretical exams will start on June 30 and end on August 11, with practical exams from August 12 to August 21. For the Technical Education Board, theoretical exams will start on June 30 and end on July 18, and practical exams will be from July 19 to August 4.

A total of 2,725 centers will host the exams for students from 9,463 institutions. Last year, 1,359,342 students participated in the HSC and equivalent exams. This year, the number of candidates has increased by 91,448. There are 204 more institutions and 67 more centers than last year.

Under the nine general education boards, there are 1,128,281 SSC candidates this year, including 533,680 boys and 594,601 girls, who will take the exams from 4,870 institutions at 2,725 centers.

Under the Madrasa Education Board, a total of 88,076 students will participate in the Alim exams, including 47,592 boys and 44,484 girls, from 2,685 institutions at 452 centers.

Under the Technical Education Board, a total of 234,433 students will participate in the HSC (BM/BMT), HSC (Vocational), and Diploma in Commerce exams, including 169,009 boys and 65,424 girls, from 1,908 institutions at 707 centers.
