After attending the second anniversary of the Padma Bridge in Munshiganj on Friday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Tungipara. The next day, Saturday (July 6), after concluding several programs, she will return to Dhaka in the afternoon.
Various preparations are underway among district and upazila administrations and Awami League leaders and workers focusing on the Prime Minister’s two-day visit. Security measures have been tightened to ensure her arrival is smooth, with the law enforcement agencies fully prepared.
On Friday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will lay flowers at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara. On July 6, she will participate in several initiatives, including the inauguration of the Bangabandhu Corner at Tungipara Government Primary School, distribution of educational materials among students, and exchanging greetings with party leaders and workers.
Additionally, extensive decorations with banners and festoons have been arranged on various roads to welcome Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the Awami League’s side. Local Awami League leaders and workers are enthusiastic about Sheikh Hasina’s visit and eagerly anticipate meeting and interacting with her.
Mayor Sheikh Tojammel Haque Tutul of Tungipara Municipality expressed, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation in Tungipara on Friday. Whenever she gets the opportunity after the inauguration of the Padma Bridge, she comes to visit her father’s grave. Every year after Eid, she makes a trip to Tungipara. We are now eagerly awaiting her arrival. The people are also waiting in anticipation.”
Mahbub Ali Khan, president of Gopalganj district Awami League, and GM Sahab Uddin Azim, general secretary, said, “Preparations from all aspects have already been completed for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s arrival in Tungipara. On July 6, there are plans for discussions with party leaders and workers at Tungipara Upazila Awami League office.”
Kazi Mahbubul Alam, Deputy Commissioner of Gopalganj district, stated, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Gopalganj for two days on Friday and Saturday (July 5 and 6). In order to ensure her safe and festive journey, we have held meetings with law enforcement agencies. We have already completed all the preparations. At the end of the two-day journey, she will leave Tungipara for Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.”
